Hi there! I'm Kara and I believe stories are magic.
As readers, we want characters that jump off the page, relationships that pull at our heart strings, and world-building that provides an escape from the minutiae of the day-to-day; we want magic. And so, as a writer, if this is the only magic I’ll ever be able to wield, then I’ll have achieved my childhood dream of becoming a true magician. I reside in St. Louis, Missouri with my partner and our two rambunctious cats. I spend my days working in healthcare, and my evenings writing fiction across a vast array of genres. When I am not writing or caring for patients, I can be found reading, practicing yoga, binging television, or dining at our favorite restaurants. My debut novel, Cursed Coven, published by Wildling Press, released on September 26th, 2023! The story follows Octavia, a magicless witch from a broken coven, and Leif, a tenacious witch hunter with a desire to impress his father. When their lives unexpectedly collide, they begrudgingly agree to join forces to confront a common enemy; but when their drastically opposing views of witchcraft threaten to bring their carefully-laid plans crumbling to the ground, they’re forced put aside their differences before they lose the very thing they were never expecting to cherish—each other.
