Hi there! I'm Kara and I believe stories are magic.

As readers, we want characters that jump off the page, relationships that pull at our heart strings, and world-building that provides an escape from the minutiae of the day-to-day; we want magic. And so, as a writer, if this is the only magic I’ll ever be able to wield, then I’ll have achieved my childhood dream of becoming a true magician. 

I reside in St. Louis, Missouri with my partner and our two rambunctious cats. I spend my days working in healthcare, and my evenings writing fiction across a vast array of genres. When I am not writing or caring for patients, I can be found reading, practicing yoga, visiting art museums or galleries, binging television, or dining at our favorite restaurants.
